I’m John Biddle — Operating Department Practitioner, Surgical First Assistant, educator, and writer.
My clinical work spans the full perioperative pathway across all surgical specialities, in both NHS and private settings. I have extensive experience in trauma, transplant and organ retrieval, paediatrics, and complex elective surgery.
My practice covers every element of perioperative care: patient positioning, blood product management, airway management, resuscitation, cell salvage, and the safe use of EBME and specialist theatre equipment.

Expert witness reports
Independent, clinically grounded reports under CPR 35. I provide detailed analysis of perioperative practice across all surgical specialities.
My reports reflect a full understanding of the patient journey — from anaesthetic induction to post-operative care — and cover all aspects of perioperative work: airway management, resuscitation, blood product handling, patient positioning, EBME use, cell salvage, and equipment safety.
My expertise also extends to human factors and multidisciplinary team dynamics. Every report is clear, unbiased, and rooted in real clinical practice.
Medical writing
Accurate, accessible writing for healthcare professionals, legal teams, and wider audiences. My writing is shaped by years of frontline experience in perioperative care, education, and human factors.
